Youth Fitness

Youth Training:
If your child is old enough to participate in sports (even if they currently do not) they are at an age where they can benefit from resistance training and are able to comprehend the importance of proper nutrition. STS, creates, safe and dynamic workout routines that are designed to keep kids engaged and excited about exercise while learning the benefits of living a “healthy lifestyle”.
  • Weekly homework assignments and motivational material will be given to help facilitate a healthy lifestyle.
  • STS believes in positive reinforcement and encourages parents to be on board and take an active role in the child’s fitness goals while at home.

STS trainers have spoken at numerous schools on the subject ob body image and how to make healthy living a fun and family affair. If you’re a school coach or administrator and are interested in having STS talk to your kids about staying healthy and active, please contact us at info@scottstrainingsystems.com

High School Sports Conditioning:
The STS team includes several former collegiate athletes with over 15 years experience in training/coaching youth athletes.

STS works closely with coaches and their players to develop safe and effective workouts and meal plans, which ultimately contribute to the overall conditioning and performance of athletes who want to stay on top of their game.

The following Sports Conditioning Structures can be incorporated by an STS trainer:

Strength Based:
  • This technique utilizes explosive and Olympic-style lifts while addressing muscle imbalances.
  • Our instructors will teach proper form on all major movements including, but not limited to: squats, cleans, dead lifts, etc...
  • Plyometrics (box jumps, squat jumps, sprints, etc…) will be used to aid in explosiveness while foam rolling, partner stretching (PNF), and other stretching modalities will be used to increase flexibility.

Sports General:
  • Applying general skills reinforces commonalities of many sports.
  • Our instructors teach and train movements; not muscles.
  • Performing multi-joint movement patterns movements puts the athlete into “athletic” shape as opposed to training for general fitness.
  • Movements such as: kettle bell swings, usage of battling ropes, and various other movements that incorporate explosiveness will be utilized.

Sports Specific:
  • Sports Specific training focuses on goals such as reducing injury due to athletic fatigue by training the body’s energy systems for sport, which puts the athlete into “game shape”. Multi-joint movement patterns, which are similar to the sport, become the focus.
  • Increase quickness and agility while teaching the athlete to handle own bodyweight.
  • STS will have each athlete train in a fashion with movements that are specific to their sport. A football player will perform movements that encourage power and explosiveness while increasing flexibility and core strength, while a basketball player’s workout will focus more on increasing the athlete’s vertical along with torso conditioning and hand eye coordination and so on.

Nutrition Structure:
STS strongly believes that the athlete should get the majority of nutrients from food and then supplement accordingly. We strive to educate young athletes on the importance of eating “clean” and how to determine correct amounts of fats, carbs, protein, and calories along with proper supplementation.
