Cross Training
Intro for Marathon and Triatholon:
Marathoners and Tri-athletes have special needs when it comes to diet, resistance training, rest and event training. Some of the needs include:
- More calories than other competitive sports and competitions.
- More carbs, especially right before a long run or endurance training cycle.
- Flexibility, endurance and strength all need to be build simultaneously which can be a delicate balancing act.
Marathon:
STS will work with your running coach (if you have one) or work directly with you to layout the best way to prepare you for your race. We can provide a training plan that includes frequency and distances, as well as resistance training routines that will support your peak performance.
Strength training (particularly core and stabilizers) can assist in how efficiently one can run.
Diet is a key component to performance. Ensuring you have enough calories and the right kind of calories (proteins, carbs, fats, minerals, water and vitamins) can be a deal breaker in this type of intense sporting event. We will coordinate your meal plans, workout regimen, rest days and resistance training so that you can get maximum return on your training time as well as peak performance on the big day.
Triathlon:
STS will design workouts that focus on strengthening the body as a whole since they use their entire body during this type of event. Utilizing Battling Ropes, Kettle Bells and traditional free weights will ensure you have compound movements that incorporate your whole body.
Workouts will be designed with your triathlon training scheduled (swimming, biking and running) to incorporate rest days and other needs.
Diet will contain all macro nutrients (carbs, fats, proteins, vitamins, minerals, water) with meal plans that take into consideration your training on any given day (in other words you will feed yourself to train).
